“We’ve received a formal offer to fight Dereck Chisora on October 26. We have accepted on the condition that two clauses are inserted into the contract,” Higgins told The New Zealand Herald.
“One is that Joseph’s fight will be no earlier than the penultimate fight on the card, and the other is the drug testing protocols.”
And Higgins warns that his boxer will walk away from the fight – unless the drug testing protocols are agreed upon.
“Under the circumstances of those conditions not being met, unfortunately we will have to pull out of the fight,” Higgins said.
Parker has been calling for a fight with Chisora for a while. In order to make the contest happen, Parker had to agree to be the B-side of the promotion.
Sources: Tyrone Spong is on a short list of heavyweights being considered for Aleksandr Usyk’s debut Oct. 12 in Chicago. Bryant Jennings has also been considered. As reported, Andrey Fedosov was offered fight, but is no longer an option. Expect an announcement as soon as Friday.
