On Saturday, May 8th at 11pm ET at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in front of 70,000 fans. WBA, WBC and Ring Magazine champion Saul Canelo Alvarez (55-1-2) attempts to become the first Mexican to hold all the 168 pound belts, when he meets Billy Joe Saunders (30-0), the holder of the WBO belt.
Canelo is firmly on his path to becoming the Undisputed Champion of the Super Middleweight division with the expectation that he follows this fights with one against the last remaining champion in the division, Caleb Plant. However, first he has to get one of his toughest opponents yet in the undefeated Saunders, who relishes the oppurtunity to throw a spanner in the works saying, “I’ll be looking to put a spanner in the works for that. Same as I did with previous champions when they were talking about other fights. They’ve gotta beat me first.”
