Saturday night at the Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY; New Legends and W.O.N. Promotions makes a return with their popular International Fight Night series. With eight scheduled bouts there will be a ton of action for fans in attendance and a first look at what should be the future of the sport, as well as the New York fight scene. We were in attendance today for the weigh-ins at the NYSAC and bring you this preview to give insight to a great night of boxing.

1

In the main event, young, popular, and ferocious female featherweight Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano 130lbs (17-1-1 12KO’s) of Brooklyn makes her NYC return, when she faces Dominga Olivia 132.5lbs (8-7-1 0KO’s) over six fast paced rounds. Since losing a close decision to Frida Wallberg in her first title shot, Serrano has gone 3-0 with all three wins coming by knockout, she looks to keep the streak alive in front of her hometown friends and family.

4

Hard hitting Brooklyn southpaw Shawn Cameron 156lbs (5-0 3KO’s) stays busy in a catch weight fight opposite Dominique Foster 159lbs (2-2-1) of Hilliard, OH. Trying to climb up the ranks at junior middleweight, Cameron will need to continue to impress and rack up wins over the always ready Foster who will try to spoil his opponent’s plans.

5

Ex-amateur standout Patrick “All” Day 154lbs (3-0 2KO’s) of nearby Freeport, Long Island, puts his impressive skills to the test when he faces off with Carl Hill 155lbs (1-4 1KO). Already used to fighting both in front of his hometown and across the country, Day has to continue his successful transition to the pro game and take out Hill.

6

Another Freeport fighter, Marcus Beckford 155lbs (0-0-2) will enter a four round bout against the tough Arizona brawler Gustavo Medina 151lbs (1-5-1 1KO). The tall and lanky Beckford seems to have a similar depth of talent as his gym buddy Day, and wants to prove it by notching his first win after having been unlucky in two draws, Medina on the other hand wants to make his NY vacation a real hit.

7

Portchester, New York’s very own Bryant “PeeWee” Cruz 130lbs (4-0 4KO’s) looks to go five for five when he takes on Tomi Archambault 131lbs (1-4 1KO) in a four round super featherweight fight. With a huge crowd of supporters Cruz goes in with a guy who has faced fighters such as Felix Verdejo and Jose Pedraza, two other prospects, Cruz wants to stop his opponent just as impressively as his countrymen.

8

In a battle of Queens Hometown fighters, Ryan Ramaya 124lbs (1-0-1 1KO) takes on the pro debutant Angel Siguenza 128lbs. After failing to make weight, Siguenza must prove he’s the real deal as Ramaya tries to make him pay for what could be seen as a lack of respect on his opponent’s part. Not seemingly negative towards each other, the two fighters however were very eager to do battle.

2

Also on the bout list is Queens native Jay Rodriguez 192lbs (0-0-1) in a cruiserweight match up against the winless Ken Rosser 187lbs (0-2) from the fighting city of Philadelphia, PA. Rodriguez who came up short with a draw in his debut goes in to a battle where both men are looking for their first win, it should be interesting to see how this matchup of proud boxers turn out.

3

In the opening bout of the evening amateur boxer Gary Beriguette 147lbs of Brooklyn, NY, makes the switch from 152lb open class fighter to the pro ranks at welterweight when he makes his debut against the tough but unlucky Carlos Nieves 147lbs (0-3) of the Bronx. With both fighters having had fairly extensive amateur backgrounds, anticipate a fast paced four rounder with the newcomer trying to impress the audience while Nieves attempts to reel in a win.
