TroyKingBW300“Mr. Boxing Voice” Troy King, who has been featured multiple times on ThaBoxingVoice YouTube channel will finally get to make his return to the ring in 2014. King announced via social media late last night he would return September 26th in Mexico on the undercard of Omar Estrella vs. Antonio Meza with no specific venue announced yet. King has voiced frustration towards fellow fighters as he had two scheduled fights lined up with in three weeks of each other only for both of them to not come to fruition.

“They’re scared,” a vocal King said at a Squarevision Entertainment media day in July, as he was getting his hand wrapped next to Aaron Coley. King felt frustrated as he created anticipation through the videos leading up to his fights, but felt that his opponents got scared once they saw the way he was training and pulled out. It is a defensive minded King who focuses on hitting without getting hit that makes him so interesting to fans worldwide.

For King, who splits his time between Boxing For Health in Oakland, CA and World Class Boxing Gym in San Francisco, CA, working with Jairo Escobar, he is excited to show a new wrinkle to his game. Recently this past summer, King has begun to visit the Virgil Hunter gym and work with Eddie Croft as well. When reached for comment King explained that this fight was “Easy work” and that it is not going to last very long.

Troy King knows right now is go time as he has had limited amateur experience, but used the amateurs as a way to audition for the pros. King has the ability to sell any fight he is in. Now, can he be active enough to be a player in the division of junior middleweight? Also if King wins, which we believe will happen, King could also be a name added to “Mo’ Betta” card promoted in the Bay Area this fall by Karim Mayfield’s big brother, LaRon Mayfield.
