AbelSanchezandGennadyGolovkin_big__b7b8cGennady Golovkin is the favorite to win by knockout against Marco Antonio Rubio. Abel Sanchez the trainer of Golovkin agrees with the prediction of most boxing experts, but is very aware Rubio has power of his own.

“I think it’s a mid round knockout for somebody. Of course I’m going to favor Golovkin because he’s my fighter, but I think Marco has the type of power that can make it into an equal fight. It all depends how we are able to impose our will on Marco.”

“There’s nobody at 160 that can stay 12 rounds with Golovkin. Now the question is can Golovkin take it from Marco Antonio Rubio. Hopefully we can take a shot from Marco and if we do then Marco is in for a hurt.”

Despite Golovkin reaching this level of stardom in America he remains very humble. Able Sanchez explains how the Kazakhstan fighter is able to stay levelheaded.

“I think being in Big Bear [has kept Golovkin humble]. We don’t get a lot of attention out there. We don’t get a lot of reporters out there that are consistently putting us on videos and on the internet. Also the fact he had a good upbringing that made him humble and respectful of everyone. It has made him learn what his position and responsibilities are in life.”

The co-main event also involves an anticipated matchup between two very strong fighters. Sanchez stated, “That to me is just as good as our fight. That fight to me could be ending up being one of the fights of the year. Both guys are very skilled. Walters is the young stud coming up. He proved himself in his last fight against Vic. Donaire is a Hall of Fame fighter with a historical record. I’m looking forward as a fan towards that fight. I think it’s a 50/50 fight. I couldn’t tell you who I favor. I wouldn’t bet my life on that fight because I think it could go either way.”
