In the first round Beterbiev had a tough round as he remained conservative, and allowing Page to outbox him throughout the first three minutes. Page ended the round with an exclamation point by dropping Beterbiev with a right hand in the middle of an exchange. The knockdown was due to a combination of bad balance, and the punch landing cleanly.

In the second round Beterbeiv came out with a slightly more aggressive demeanor. In the first minute of the round he ended up landing a solid left hook during an exchange which hurt Page, and Beterbeiv continued his attack and scored a knockdown. He continued stalking Page trying to let his hands go whenever the distance between the two shortened, and scored two more knockdowns in the round. Page was very unsteady on his legs and the referee decided to bring a halt to the contest.

Beterbeiv ended up scoring a 2nd round TKO victory. The Russian fighter residing in Canada has certainly proved he packs a punch with either hand, but certainly has to refurnish his skills in order to compete against the elite fighters in the 175 pound division. At age 29, the learning curve will have to take place quickly, but he certainly possesses world class talent to take him far in the sport of boxing.
