download (1)Sadam Ali (20-0) a fighter promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and Luis Carlos Abregu (36-1) a fighter promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Boxing are set to face off November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on the Bernard Hopkins Sergey Kovalev undercard.  The bout scheduled to be at welterweight will be the first time the two promotional companies will be working together in three years.  The “Cold War” is looking like it is finally ending.

For Ali, Abregu is by far the toughest opponent he has fought in his impressive 20-0 career and he is excited to finally have a seasoned veteran to put his skills to the test.

“This is the big fight I’ve been asking for, and I’m ready to perform on Nov. 8,” Ali said. “Abregu is a seasoned veteran. He hits hard and he comes to fight. It’s the type of win that will put me in the title picture, and I can’t wait to put on a great fight for the fans and bring the win back to Brooklyn.”

Abregu is ready to prove to the boxing fans that he is another Argentinian in the sport of boxing that will bring excitement into the ring.

“I’ve been sitting back watching my fellow Argentinian brothers Marcos Maidana, Lucas Matthysse and Diego Chaves all get their opportunities to fight in the U.S., and now it’s my time to show the boxing world the best fighter from Argentina is me,” Abregu said. “I have been avoided by Manny Pacquiao, Brandon Rios and Ruslan Provodnikov, so I thank Sadam Ali for stepping up to fight me. Nov. 8 I will show the fans why I am the best and most exciting fighter from Argentina. Viva!”
