Amir-Khan-boxer-007Amir Khan has been longing for a fight with both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Last Saturday night both men fought as the world watched Mayweather defeat Manny Pacquiao soundly by majority decision.

Khan has already ruled out returning in September because of his religious obligations to Ramadan. So unless Mayweather moves his return date back from his usual September Mexican Independence Day weekend, Khan will have to wait for his crack at Mayweather to next year or ever if that.

Khan’s former trainer Freddie Roach is the head man in Pacquiao’s corner. Roach has taken shots at Khan calling him scared to fight either man. But Khan said he didn’t want to mention fighting either man during the promotions because he felt it would be disrespectful to both men. However, Khan said has said he would welcome a fight with former stalemate Manny Pacquiao.

“I think Mayweather’s team are wanting the fight. On the other hand, I’ve even spoken to Manny’s team, and they said the same to me,” Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) told BBC Five Live in an article on Ringtv.com.

Both with the recent news of Manny Pacquiao suffering a torn rotator cuff, Pacquiao is expected to miss between 6-9 months of action. So that ultimately would rule him out of fighting this year.

But Khan wants Mayweather and feels his size and speed can be a factor in giving Mayweather his first loss.

“But Mayweather’s the one I want because I really believe I have his number,” Khan said, “I’m ready for whatever Mayweather wants. I think it would be an amazing fight because I believe size is a really big factor between me and him, and the speed and the power as well.”

But would Mayweather skip September and wait on Khan or would Khan skip Ramadan for Mayweather being that Mayweather has said it will be his last fight in September? Interesting choices ahead.
