Amir KhanAmir Khan and Adrien Broner have been trading words on social media and in person about fighting each other. Last week a video went viral through social media between the two facing off after the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. There’s only one problem; Khan is already lined up to face Chris Algieri, and Adrien Broner is rumored to be returning June 20th, likely against Shawn Porter.

Khan says he wanted the fight and that it was offered to Broner, but Broner turned it down.

“I told my adviser Al Haymon to get me the fight before we got the Algieri fight, and Adrien to me seemed to not want the fight,” Broner told UK reporters on Wednesday. “To the cameras he’s talking big fights, but when it comes to signing a contract he doesn’t want to sign it. He just didn’t want it, so I had to move on.”

He feels that Broner is just about getting people hyped up for no reason.

“Adrien is just one of those guys who wants to jump on the bandwagon and tries to get a little bit of hype,” Khan said.

Regarding Kell Brook, Khan wanted it to be clear that he feels Kell Brook still needs to fight some name opponents.

“He should be fighting the big names of boxing like I’m doing,” stated Khan. “The only way Kell Brook’s name gets pushed to me is because he has a title, if he doesn’t, I don’t think his name means anything to me or boxing.”

Khan also feels that Brook’s said tried to bait him into a June fight when they knew he couldn’t fight in June because of his religious obligations.

“”I could have fought Kell Brook in the UK, but I only wanted to fight in May,” Khan said.” I didn’t want to go into June with Ramadan coming up.” I don’t want to be going into Ramadan tired, straight after a fight. It’s too much for my body to take; I need to look after it.
