Today Thaboxingvoice.com asked Angel Garcia, trainer and father of light welterweight champion Danny Garcia, if his son was ready for the welterweight division and Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter in particular. Garcia sr. refused to answer the question and explained why he feels that he can’t talk about potential fights.
”I always tell Danny that when they ask him who he wants to fight next, that it is not his job to answer that question.” He later continued, “When you start calling out names and the fights don’t happen, people are going to be disappointed.”
”So I can’t talk about them. I can only talk about my son,” the trainer told us. But he did have one question in return, ”Are they ready for Danny?”
