Angel GarciaDanny Garcia has a showdown this weekend with Lamont Peterson in what many feel will be an entertaining fight. The fight does have some backlash to come with it because it is at a catch weight, and there are no belts involved, even though both men hold 3 of the 4 ABC titles between them.

Garcia’s colorful father, Angel, says belts or not belts, it doesn’t matter, Danny will remain undefeated.

“I’m not going to take it personal about the IBF and all that because it’s a catch weight anyway at 143,” Garcia told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “But April 11th, Danny’s going to go in there and do his thing. If Peterson opens up early, he’s getting knocked out early. If it goes the distance it is what it, Danny still the undefeated champ of the world. They ain’t going to say champ, but he’ll be undefeated.”

The fight will be on NBC in primetime and for the first installment of PBC on NBC, the ratings were phenomenal, over 3.4 million average views. Garcia expects this fight to do just as well.

“That date was ours, March 7th,” Angel Garcia said. “Broner and Thurman got on it; it was good for them. This fight was advertised with that fight. With this fight, there ain’t no advertisements. When Danny fights, it’s going to get views because when Danny fights, it’s special. Whether it was the 1st or 2nd show, it doesn’t matter, Danny will get views.”

Should Garcia win this fight, a fight with the big names might come with it. Angel Garcia says Danny will fight whoever, whenever.

“If he fights Floyd or Manny, it doesn’t matter because at the end of the day he’s a fighter, it’s what he does. So if its Floyd, Manny, Peterson or Matthysse, we going to fight whoever, it is what it is, we don’t run from nobody.
