Most people assumed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. was joking when he announced that Andre Berto was among the fighters being considered to face him in September in the final fight of his ShowTime contract. Well, things just got a little more comical as Andre Berto announced on “TMZ Hollywood Sports” that Floyd has been making harassing calls to the boxer.
Berto claims that Floyd’s calls stem from drama over a woman.
There is no actual evidence. In fact, Berto told TMZ Sports that he is convinced it is Floyd because he can “hear him breathing” on the other end of the phone.
“I know it’s him on the other line,” Berto told TMZ Sports in a video published on their website.
TMZ’s sources say that Mayweather is reportedly upset with Berto over his relationship with Nelly and Shantel Jackson (Ms. Jackson) – Floyd’s former fiancé – as the two have been dating for some time now.
Jackson made headlines days before Mayweather’s PPV fight with Manny Pacquiao when she announced that she was suing him for slandering her name when Floyd announced Jackson aborted her pregnancy with the controversial fighter.
