Terence CrawfordTerrance “Bud” Crawford impressed his investors this weekend. From the fans to Top Rank to HBO, Crawford’s 6th round destruction over Thomas Dulorme this weekend further cemented his status in boxing and advanced his value in the eyes of his promoter and network.

Bob Arum, “Bud’s” promoter, spoke with Anthony “Rod” Rodriguez of Thaboxingvoice.com immediately after the televised HBO co-feature at the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. Arum was considerably high on Crawford’s performance and wasn’t shy about singing his star fighter’s praises.

“It was tremendous performance,” Arum told Rod of Thaboxingvoice.com. “Very intelligent fight and you see as soon as he hurt the guy he’s a great finisher. I’m very proud of Terrance. I’ve said for a while now that he’s the future, a big superstar in boxing, and I really believe that.”

The win on Saturday was exactly what Crawford and company could’ve hoped for upon beginning both his first fight at junior welterweight and his 2015 kickoff outing. It was certainly an impressive way of starting off the year, but it also creates excitement for the possibilities of things to come with Crawford.

Arum is understandably excited, and he believes that Crawford could be on his way to back to back “Fighter of the Year” awards—and honor Crawford claimed after a breakthrough year in 2014.

“We’re going to see a lot more of Terrance Crawford—2014 ‘Fighter of the Year,’ maybe he’ll be ‘Fighter of the Year’ for 2015.”
