Bob Arum recently gave Thaboxingvoice.com an update on various fighters under the Top Rank banner. Arum told Thaboxingvoice.com that Top Rank has a huge 2015 in store, and they’ve done a pretty great job thus far with the success of last Saturday’s HBO card which featured Lucas Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov in an epic clash as well as Terrance Crawford’s destruction over Thomas Dulorme.
Arum has plans for his veteran fighters, but he is also looking to make significant pushes with some of his younger talent this year.
“We’re looking forward to Tim Bradley fighting at the end of June,” Arum told Anthony “Rod” Rodriguez of Thaboxingvoice.com. “We’re looking for Verdejo to burst out on the HBO scene. Brandon Rios is going to maybe fight Kell Brook this year. We’ve got a lot of activity. And after Manny knocks out Mayweather, then we’ll look for a suitable opponent for Manny to fight in November.”
Despite the assumptions that Top Rank fighters will need to find opponents with Al Haymon’s “PBC” series in full swing and his freezing out fighters outside his stable, Top Rank fighters have plenty of options. The big factor is Top Rank’s willingness to work with Golden Boy and other promoters. That will surely open up the matchmaking options.
