Miguel Berchelt vs. Oscar Valdez has to be the biggest, most anticipated fight in the super featherweight division but boxing fans will have to wait longer to see it happen as Berchelt has tested positive for Covid19. The bout was planned for December 12th.
Berchelt last fought in June of this year in an entertaining scrap against an underdog that landed several great shots against him. Had those shots of been from a better fighter it could have done some damage.
Valdez stepped in the ring last in July knocking down Jayson Velez three times in order to end the fight.
Both fighters have been training hard with the expectation to face each other. Berchelt had been training in Mexico while Valdez has been training with team Canelo in San Diego. As of now, there has been no release as to whether Valdez will fight a different opponent or hold on for Berchelt.
