Big names coming to HOF Induction weekend

International Boxing Hall of FameThe International Boxing Hall of Fame will hold its 26th annual Induction weekend celebrations June 11-14. Every year boxing fanatics from around the world make the annual pilgrimage to Boxing’s Home Town, Canastota NY.

This year’s inductees include Riddick ‘Big Daddy’ Bowe, Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, Yoko Gushiken, ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed, Rafael Mendoza, Steve Smoger, Nigel Collins and Jim Lampley.

There are also over 40 Boxing celebrities scheduled to participate in the weekend’s events including Amir ‘King’ Khan, Sergio Martinez, Fernando Vargas, Winky Wright, Heather ‘The Heat’ Hardy, Joe Cortez, ‘The Raging Bull’ Jake LaMotta, Nino Benvenuti, Michael Spinks, ‘Irish’ Micky Ward, Dickie Ward, William Joppy, Ray Mercer, George Chuvalo, Peter Manfredo Jr., Pipino Cuevas, Ruben Olivares, Buddy McGirt, Aaron ‘The Hawk’ Pryor, Terry Norris and many more.

The weekend is packed with exciting events from Ringside Lectures, Open workouts, Celebrity Fist Castings and even a 5K road race. The weekend closes out with the Induction ceremonies on Sunday afternoon.

Every Year a Grand Marshal is chosen to lead the Parade of Champions. The 2015 Parade Grand Marshal is Jon Seda from the hit television drama “Chicago P.D.” Jon is a former amateur boxer with a record of 21-1. Some of the past Marshals include Rosie Perez, Mario Lopez and Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones.

Fans attending the four-day events should make sure to have their boxing gloves and sharpies in hand as this is an unforgettable opportunity for fight fans to get autographs, take pictures and mingle with some of the best in boxing history.
