c4bb78a931b894f730debf7d1151165c7069b9a0Junior Welterweight prospect Bilal Mahasin (4-1) continues his trend of no soft opposition early in his career. Mahasin, who started his pro career over a decade ago before seeing his professional boxing career postponed due to incarceration has returned with a thunderous roar facing a who’s who among the division. Mahasin has faced feared journeyman Moris Rodriguez in Sacramento, the dangerous Dwain Victorian and traveled across the country to face recently signed Top Rank prospect Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed, whom he had a very competitive fight with. The big takeaway is Mahasin has not always been the A-side early on as he has had to win on the road which is uncommon with most fighters being brought along now a days.

Mahasin, who also stars on the “48 Hours Out” video on ThaBoxingVoice YouTube channel, took to social media expressing he wants to face Emmanuel Robles next. Though no official statement has been given by Mahasin sources close to the Mahasin camp cite Robles’ win over San Francisco junior welterweight prospect Jonathan Chicas in July on Fox Sports 1 as a contributing factor. The alleged bout if it comes to fruition could land on an early November card in San Francisco at Longshoreman’s Hall, the same venue Robles beat Chicas at in the summer. The card that this bout would be targeted for would be promoted by LaRon Mayfield’s Mo Betta Entertainment and headlined by the return of Karim Mayfield to the Bay Area after a long hiatus from fighting in the Bay Area.

Nonetheless, Mahasin is focused on facing Robles next as his Instagram and Facebook profiles were filled with an image of himself in the ring with a phrase, “I want Emmanuel Robles next!”
