Kell BrookIBF World Welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KO’s) is open to fighting WBA World Welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KO’s) in the United States on Premier Boxing Champions if a deal can be made that makes sense for both sides, this according to Matchroom Sports promoter Eddie Hearn.

Both men are in the sweepstakes to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 12th. However, it was revealed today that Mayweather could very well fight Andre Berto on CBS, so for the other guys looking to get a date with ‘Money,’ too bad so sad. It may be time to prepare for Plan B.

Hearn has been attempting to stage a fight between Brook and former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios on September 12th, but negotiations have hit a brick wall due to disagreements over the rematch clause, and now it appears Brook has his eyes set on fighting on October in Sheffield, his hometown.

However, that plan could also be scrapped if he can book a fight with Floyd Mayweather.

An October date with Thurman would make more sense because ‘One Time’ just fought last Saturday, defeating Luis Collazo by eighth-round TKO.

Ramadan ends on July 17th, and Amir Khan has stated that following its conclusion, he would need at least a couple months to get into fighting condition.

Timothy Bradley, who claimed the WBO Welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over former junior-welterweight champion Jessie Vargas, is also a viable opponent.

There are a lot of fights to be made in the welterweight division, but according to Hearn, it doesn’t matter, his fighter [Brook] believes he can beat all of them, speaking with Sky Sports via Boxing Scene.

“Kell Brook is up for fighting anyway, whether it’s Mayweather, Thurman or Khan – it doesn’t really matter. We were looking at getting Kell out on September 12, but it’s likely now that it will be at the end of October back in Sheffield.

“He believes he can beat everyone in the division. He has respect for Thurman, and they’ve complimented each other in every interview, but it’s a fight that’s inevitable down the road. We’d like to keep growing Kell in the UK. We wouldn’t rule out a US fight, and Thurman is focused on the US thing. Kell is ready to fight anyone if the deal makes sense.

“There’s nobody in the division I could ask him to fight and he wouldn’t. I love the Timothy Braley fight, and it could be a unification as well, so that’s a fight we’re also interested in. If Kell has to travel to the US, then it’s not a problem, but he’s a pay-per-view fighter in the UK and doing well, so that’s where he sees his future. He wants the best and will travel to do it, but my job is to try and make these fights in the UK. That’s best for British boxing.”
