Brooklyn, NY: Heavyweight Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov (17-0-1, 11 KOs) may be coming off a major upset victory over veteran Tomasz “Goral” Adamek (49-3, 29 KOs) but his next opponent Derric “El León” Rossy (29-8, 14 KOs) believes he is going to be Czar’s biggest challenge to date. The two are slotted to face-off as the main event on the next installment of NBCSN Fight Night (a special triple header edition) live from Sands Casino Hotel in Bethlehem, PA on August 9. This will also be Rossy’s Fight Night debut.

The two heavyweights are both 6’3″ tall and Rossy wants to warn fans, “It is going to be a heck of a brawl!” Rossy, 34, has 37 professional fights on his resume while his younger opponent, Glazkov, 29, has less than half as many with 18. Rossy warned, “Everyone wants a knockout. It is going to be a great fight. You’ve got two hungry guys looking to go at it. My prediction is this is going to be an unbelievable fight.”

Rossy is coming off an upset majority decision victory over Joe Hanks on May 16th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  That fight was his first with trainer Grant Seligson.  The two are training for this upcoming fight at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, NY.  When asked about what it is like to train Rossy, Grant replied, “Training Derric is a pleasure.  He listens to everything. He is very open-minded.  We get along great. We are a great team.”  El León declined to reveal his game plan for Czar but did have this prediction, “You are going to see a slugfest but you are also going to see some great boxing.  It is going to have everything.”

As part of his preparation for this fight Rossy and Seligson watched Czar’s fight against Adamek on March 15th.  As a result Rossy had this analysis of his young opponent, “We’ve seen some film on him.  The kid is a really sound fighter. We need to be at our best.  There is no slacking on this.  There are no easy fights but this kid can really fight. We are excited to meet the challenge. With the Adamek fight he really showed that he wasn’t just a prospect.  He is very sound at what he does.”  His manager, Sal Musumeci added, “Derric is a veteran.  He has tremendous worldwide experience fighting many top and world-ranked fighters. Derric is a true warrior.  I believe this fight will be Glazkov’s real test not Adamek.  He’s in for the real test on August 9.”

This will be Czar’s third appearance at Sands Casino Hotel in Bethlehem, PA.  Rossy is from Medford, NY and believes Czar will have the home crowd advantage at Sands but he said, “I hope my fans can get out to see the fight.  The more support the better for me but I am not a stranger to being in the enemy territory.  It doesn’t bother me.”  Musumeci added, “When you get two heavyweights like this to step up and face each other, when most of the heavyweights out there are so selective and sit around and wait for an opportunity, this shows the heart of two world class heavyweights getting in the ring to put on a great show.  The winner of this deserves a world title shot.”
