There are many difficulties in life the human race suffers, especially the children. Children have to live with consequences/results of what we as adults do, they have no choice. Some kids are born handicapped, some are orphaned from birth or at a young age and some live in poverty. Children are vulnerable. This is a common occurrence for children throughout the world especially in third world countries who lack a familial and governmental support system like in North America where we turn a blind eye to what goes on in the world and the environment around us.

A group of Canadian fighters are helping out and not turning a blind eye to what is going on throughout the world, especially the children of the world. Six time female world champion Jelena Mrdjenovich along with Canadian welterweight champion Steve Claggett, Paul MacKenzie, Rob Nichols, Ryan Mjölnir Molnár and Vanessa Tisiga Bradford have all pitched in for an auction to help impoverished children who are orphaned and physically and mentally challenged in Peru.

The organization that is holding auction is  non-profit called SUPC which stands for Standing Up For Peruvian Children. They are based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and have been helping impoverished children since 2011. The money raised through them go to support the following:

    • Instituto de Rehabiltaction Integral Para Discapacitados (I.R.I.D.) a home center for handicapped children who were abandoned by their parents. It also provides in-home supports to children remaining with their families.
    • Ayudame Caballo is a therapeutic riding centre for handicapped children.
Wawa Wasi, a care centre for young children to enable their mothers to earn an income -without the centre children accompany their mother who often sells small household items on the sidewalk.
    • Cuna Jardin, Corazón de Jesús  provides day care and kindergarten for children from the outskirts of Arequipa and literacy classes for their parents who had to leave school at an early age to work.

The auction is being held on Saturday, November 17th in Edmonton. The SUPC also accept donations from their website http://supcsociety.com/wordpress/ , and would like to thank and appreciate the professional boxers who contributed.
