It’s been eight years since “King” Carlos Molina was officially crowned after defeating Ishe Smith. It was a title reign that lasted over a year, but Molina was unable to compete due to deportation and lost the title in his first fight back. Since that loss, the hunger to become champion became insatiable.

Molina took fighting into his own hands over recent years and began promoting his own fights and kept himself busy to prepare himself for another opportunity to proudly wear that crown. The road has been long and hard but he is finally one step closer to realizing his dream for a second time with his next fight for the WBC Silver Middleweight Title fight against Sam Eggington.

“I have been working nonstop day in and day out to make my goals and dreams as a boxer and promoter a realization,” stated Molina via social media. “On May 22nd I will become one step closer to both, I will be fighting for the WBC Silver Championship and in full tunnel vision mode not just on the belt, but to make a statement to the whole division. As a promoter it will be the first time King Carlos Promotions will co-promote an international fight. It will be seen live in various countries worldwide, details on where to watch coming soon.”

Molina last fought in February winning a unanimous decision over Edgar Ortega.
