In the past couple weeks, it was announced that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was having differences with his legendary father and was cutting ties with him when it came to boxing. He also wanted to just go by Julio Chavez and step out from his father’s shadow.

It was recently reported by ESPN Deportes that Chavez Jr. and his father have reached an agreement and Sr. will continue to be in his son’s corner.

“I have always asked my father to be in my corner, formally but I could not for a long time,” said Chavez Jr. “I said, ‘If you want to help me, it has to be formally, because if not, it may sometimes confuse my coach.”

How did Sr. handle it? Positively, of course. Family is after all the greatest legacy that we have in life and to become the head trainer of his son will be a new chapter in their business and family relationship.

Joining Chavez Sr. will be Vladimir Baldenebro who will be the second in command and Alex Ariza will stay onboard with Jr.
Chavez Jr. has had numerous issues in the past with his discipline and training ethics but with his father in charge you may see a drastic change in the young heir to the throne.
