sharif bogere Chelo GonzalezAn attractive bout has been added to “The War”, the show headlined by the fight between the World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior lightweight champion, Orlando “Siri” Salido, and two-time former WBO champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez, on April 11, – at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The inclusion of the match between world ranked lightweights Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez and Sharif Bogere on this PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation, in association with Zanfer Promotions, which will be broadcast on “Pay Per View” in Puerto Rico, United States and Canada on all Cable TV and Satellite systems.

“We added this good fight between Chelo Gonzalez and Sharif Bogere for a WBO regional title on this show. This is a good match between two ranked boxers looking to for a world opportunity,” said Peter Rivera, vice president of PRBBP. “We already have a great fight on Salido vs. Rocky and we are working to have other good fights on the undercard. Soon we will announce everything for April 11.”
The bout between Gonzalez (23-1, 18 KOs) and Bogere (26-1, 18 KOs) will be for the vacant WBO Intercontinental lightweight title scheduled for 10 rounds. Gonzalez is ranked #8, and Bogere is #10 in the WBO lightweight division.

Gonzalez, a native of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, coming off a TKO victory in two rounds over Portuguese Antonio Joao Bento last December 20, 2014, to win the WBO Latino lightweight title after more than a year of inactivity. The only defeat in Gonzalez record was in May, 2013, when he lost to then-WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns after a wrist injury did not allow him to continue for the tenth round.
While, Bogere, from Uganda, also lost in his world chance in March, 2013, when he was defeated a unanimous decision against Cuban Richard April, the World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight champion. Bogere came off a five-round KO win over Mexican Fernando Garcia in October, 2014.
Headlining the show, Siri Salido (42-12-2, 29 KOs), from Mexico, will defend his WBO junior lightweight belt versus former champion Rocky Martinez (28-2-2, 17 KOs), from Puerto Rico.
“The War” between Salido and Martinez will be broadcast on “Pay Per View” at $39.95 for Puerto Rico, United States and Canada on all Cable TV and Satellite systems.
