After Curtis Stevens 1st round knockout victory this Friday, he threw his name back into the middleweight division as a viable contender. He made a comment on Friday where he was asked about fighting Middleweight title holder Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin, where he stated that, “I’d melt that chocolate.”

After his victory, Stevens said more on Quillin. “Quillin my man, he’s a good fighter; he has a title in my division. Am I not supposed to call him out? This is business. If they want to do it, send the contract over to Kathy,” Stevens told ThaBoxingVoice.com.

Stevens put up a valiant effort in his loss to Gennady Golovkin and most wanted to see how he would return after being in the ring with one of the most feared men in the sport. Stevens took care of business against his opponent Patrick Majewski knocking him down three times en route to another 1st round victory, something that is synonymous with Curtis Stevens and his victories.

When speaking on the knockout Stevens said it was the jab that was the key, something that they had been working on. As far as it being too quick to tell how he has recovered from his knock out loss, Stevens stated, “I don’t know man I don’t even think no more, just let these shits go (putting up his fists). After the loss, I came to show everyone I’m here to stay. The loss is behind me now, move on. I don’t need rounds, I go rounds in sparring, I want to go and break something up. You lose to Golovkin, it’s heartbreaking. I didn’t crush him (Patrick Majewski)  like I wanted but I put him down.”

Stevens gives Golovkin his credit but certainly wants to fight him in the near future.

“I want Gennady ass too, I’m a man. You got in my ass for the little time that I let you get. You did your thing. I’ve seen the tape, I seen what I did wrong. So we can do it again.”

Stevens also feels he was thinking too much in the Golovkin fight and the version that we saw on Friday night would be Gennady Golovkin.

“Definitely!  I was thinking too much. I was feeling good; maybe I put too much pressure being my 1st world title fight. I had fun tonight. I’m a do that, let these hands go, have fun, think less and go out and punish people.”
