DANNY GARCIADanny Garcia has a fight lined up with Lamont Peterson next Saturday at the Barclays Center. But even though he has a big fight in front of him, everyone seems to have his name in their mouth when it comes to their next fights. Garcia was mentioned as a possible Mayweather opponent after he beat Lucas Matthysse and all last year; Freddie Roach wanted a Garcia fight for Manny Pacquiao.

But For Garcia he says, “I just let destiny take its course. I’m not going to sit back and wait a year for Mayweather and Pacquiao because they can pick whoever they want, they the cash cows.”

Marcos Maidana, a recent Mayweather opponent has said he wants a fight with Danny Garcia. Garcia is open but says if it’s his next fight it would have to be at a catch weight.

“I could fight Maidana next,” Garcia told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “I’m not looking over Lamont Peterson because it’s a very tough fight. We can do it at 144 because he knows I’m coming up. If he really wants the fight, I think I’m the brighter young star. He fights hard and in spurts, he’s not consistent enough to beat me.”

Garcia feels he can make those demands because he’s the A side to many fighters out there.

“I’m just chilling home in my robe, and all these fighters are calling me out, they making me famous,” Garcia said. “I don’t pay attention to call outs when I’m matched up already. Adrien Broner calls me out when I’m matched up with Lamont Peterson already. So it’s just like I know they train together, so I ain’t falling for the mind games.”

As far as Maidana, Garcia says, “Maidana calls me out, and he knows I’m matched up. I seen a picture of him and he wasn’t looking too good. He was like 200 lbs. He ain’t coming down to 144.”
