Life has been difficult since Covid 19 hit the world. Many of us have lost loved ones and several people have been forced to stay home and not do their job. Boxing was shut down with every other major sport for a period of time as well and not only did it hurt the fans, it hurt the fighters as well.
Danny “The Baby Faced Assassin” Roman fought twice in 2020. One of those fights was pre-pandemic and the second one was in September. Roman won a unanimous decision over Juan Carlos Payano but the celebration did not last long.
No more than a week passed by before Roman returned to the gym to begin preparing for his next bout whenever that may come. Fast-forward five months later and The waiting continues which has frustrated the former World champion.
“As a professional and responsible fighter that I am, I was back in the gym a week after my last fight in Sept,” Tweeted Roman. “It is very frustrating and disrespectful not knowing when I will fight again.”
The year is still young but every fighter has an expiration date and sitting on the shelf is mo good for anyone.
