David_Price_2116744b-460x288Liverpool heavyweight David Price (18-2, 15 KO) is talking up a possible clash with rising star Anthony Joshua.
England’s Olympic champion Joshua (9-0, 9 KO) is coming off another knockout victory on Saturday against Denis Bakhtov, and has another fight coming up against Michael Sprott in November.
Price spoke to “Sky Sports” ringside at Joshua’s fight on Saturday expressing his interest in fighting the young up and comer.
“I’m not this durable fighter, who comes in to get rounds in. I’ll be going in to take his head off his shoulders type of thing, without sounding too manic.”

“I’ll be going out with the same intentions as Anthony Joshua. It will be like an explosive fight.”

“But as far as getting rounds in, he’s not going to get tested until he does step up.

A step up for Joshua only Price believes he can provide as he also gave his own analysis of Joshua’s upcoming fight against Sprott.

“Michael Sprott has lost a couple of fights recently in the first round to lesser fighters than Anthony Joshua and I think he’ll walk through Sprott, no disrespect to Michael. That’s the fact of the matter.”

A fight between two of Englands best heavyweights would garner plenty of attention and even Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes so. “Joshua vs. Price next year is a big big fight. David’s a great fighter but this is something very special. We’re going to have a lot of fun with Anthony Joshua. He’s going to put boxing and Britain on the map all over the world.”

Be on the lookout for this fight to take place early 2015.
