Denia Karina Sosa did not start her pro career the way she wanted. She had to settle for a split draw against Anahi Soriano. Each fighter won on one of the three judges scorecards with the third judge having the bout a draw. For both debuting fighters it was better than a loss but it was a lesson learned.

Sosa had her second fight in May of 2021 and she made a statement that she learned her lesson and stopped debuting fighter Erika Castruita in the first round of their bout. Now that Sosa had a taste of victory it was time to prepare for the next bout.

On June 26th Sosa had her third pro fight within the span of four and a half months and it was no easy task. Erika Garcia came at Sosa like a bat out of hell and through tons of punches throughout the first round. The best punch was a counter uppercut that Sosa landed that shook Garcia. In rounds two and three Sosa had to fight defensively and she did well by landing the harder, cleaner shots as opposed to the smothered shots from Garcia. Sosa began to open her offence in the fourth round and did so effectively for a brief period of time but Garcia was relentless. By the end of the fight all three judges scored the fight in favor of Sosa with the cards reading 39-37, 40-36, 39-37. 39-37 was doable and she could have even gotten away with 38-36 but nevertheless the right fighter won.

Time away from the gym will be brief as Sosa will look to have her fourth fight. She learned a lot in the fight against Garcia especially what she needs to fix. Sosa will be back in the gym shortly and her fourth fight she be lined up soon she is just waiting for the pieces to come together.
