wilder3American heavyweight hopeful, Deontay Wilder’s has been criticized throughout his career about the level of his opposition. This past Saturday was no different when he took on the hopelessly over matched Jason Gavern. Many people were very critical of the matchup and one of those people just happened to be heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings.

Jennings spoke with Tha Boxing Voice yesterday and he said that if he were to take a stay busy type fight like Wilder did on Saturday, he would have chosen a tougher fight than Jason Gavern. He also was very critical of Wilder’s performance and said that he saw flaws that he could exploit when and if the two ever meet if the ring.

Jennings seems likely to get the winner of the Wilder-Stiverne WBC Heavyweight Title fight that is tentatively set for November.

When informed about Jennings’ comments Wilder had this to say: “It’s definitely too soon to be worrying about Jennings. Even when that fight happens I’m not worried about Jennings. Jennings doesn’t present anything for me. That would be a very easy fight for me. To hear the remarks of him and anybody else, that’s what I want. I wanted it to be like where it seemed like it wasn’t great.”

Although Wilder has to take care of Stiverne first before he focuses on another future opponent, he feels confident that he’ll get the job done and that Jennings will be next. “All these guys, especially these guys as far as Stiverne and Jennings, they are definitively my next two guys because I’m definitely about to take the belt. They are looking for something. I know they were watching the fight. I knew they would be. We are going to let them think that’s all I have or I don’t have anything more until that time comes, so they’ll be sadly mistaken, so let them prepare for something that they don’t expect to happen.”
