Teofimo Lopez stayed true to his word last October when he took on and beat Vasyl Lomachenko. After the victory, several options became available, and with such a high profile win, more money should be available for Lopez to make when he fights next. Finding the right opponent will be an important factor and while there are some that say Lopez is not the undisputed champion he must face Devin Haney.
Lopez recently attended Canelo – Smith and met up with Eddie Hearn and told Hearn that for a fight with Haney he wants ten million dollars. A price that seems laughable to Haney.
“Y’all said I haven’t fought anybody but Teofimo Lopez wants $10,000,000 to ride off into the sunset with when I beat him,” Tweeted Haney.
While Haney may be critical of the price Lopez wants he fails to mention that Lopez beat a top-five pound-for-pound fighter when he was expected to lose. Meanwhile, Haney failed to impress against a faded Yuriorkis Gamboa.
