download (1)Don King can never be counted out. When he’s almost on his last leg, he always seems to remain relevant. After Tavoris Cloud lost to Bernard Hopkins in 2013, he was all but ruled out. Then when it came to his last heavyweight hope, Bermane Stiverne ran through Chris Arreola. Then Stiverne followed it up by defeating Arreola again by knockout to win the WBC world heavyweight title.

Now it’s on to Deontay Wilder January 17th. If Stiverne is victorious over Wilder, then a showdown for all the marbles versus Wladimir Klitschko will be the move. Don King says that is the plan and the options are limitless for Stiverne if he beats Wilder.

“We will fight anybody and everybody,” King told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “ There’d be no more incapacity to make a fight where you can’t make it here; you can’t make it there. What network we’re going to fight on? We’re going to defend the heavyweight championship of the world when we win it, which means we’ll go all over the world representing this great nation of America and preaching the unity, solidarity, and togetherness.”

King switched subjects and talked Mayweather-Pacquiao as everyone seems to be doing now. King was once involved in possibly brokering the fight as Arum and King though bitter rivals have made deals when necessary. King like all of us wants the fight to happen regardless of how late it is.

“I hope so for the good of the sport of boxing. It should have been done earlier but you know we take it when you can get it. I’m very proud of Floyd Mayweather, so whatever he can do to enhance the sport, let’s do it.”
