untitledBethlehem, PA (August 9th, 2014)-As Main Events, Peltz Boxing and Bam Boxing prepared to showcase a triple header for NBC Sports, the fans here at the Sands Casino were treated to a great undercard that featured some locals out of Bethlehem and Allentown, as well as opposition from the surrounding Tri-State Area. As always, a great undercard to ready us for what could be an even better triple header. The results are as follows

Khalib Whitmore (6-0, 5 KOs) Def. Lamont Capers (4-5) Via TKO (4 rounds,  Lt. Heavyweights) –  Whitmore had a great 1st round, stalking Capers most of the way and landing some good shots, Capers stood his ground and fired back some of his own. In the 2nd round Whitmore landed a solid straight left that sent Capers into the canvas, towards the end  of the round Whitmore landed another shot that folded Capers almost sending him down again before being saved by the bell. In the 3rd, Whitmore came out strong once again, bullying Capers around for the whole round before causing Capers glove to touch the canvas, scoring another knockdown with only seconds left in the round. Finally in the 4th and final round, Whitmore unleashed a fury of punches causing Capers to cover up, ultimately resulting in the referee stopping the fight in the 0:32 second mark.

Tyrell Wright (6-0, 4 KOs) Def. Randy Easton (2-3-1, 2 KOs) Via UD 40-36 x3  (4 rounds, Heavyweights) – In the 1st round, both guys came out strong, with Easton getting the better of Wright in the first half of the round before Wright came back and took over the second half. In the 2nd round, Easton had only one good moment where he landed a hard left hook but it did nothing to Wright, who was tagging Easton throughout the round with body shots that had Easton gasping for air. By the 3rd round, Easton had tired down and was doing a lot of constant holding. In the final round, Wright completely punished Easton with hard body shots but slowly tired down as it came to a close, Easton survived getting stopped and finished the round strong but not enough to get a win or win the round.

Ismael Serrano (2-1) Def. Jonathon Williams (0-3) Via SD 40-36 Serrano, 39-37 Serrano, 39-37 Williams (4 rounds Lt. Welterweights) – Serrano lived up to his nickname, “Speedy” in the 1st, showing his blazing hand spend. Williams was able to keep him off but Serrano snuck in some shots. Williams came back strong in the second round, slipping a lot of Serrano’s shots and changing the tide in the final moments of the round when he landed 2 hard shots that backed Serrano up. A lot of holding in the 3rd but both guys still managed to land shots on one another, in the last 10 seconds they exchanged a flurry of punches. In a exciting final round, Serrano and Williams gave their all and traded tremendous shots with one another. Serrano kept tagging the body as Williams looked for the head. A few tangles here and there locking arms but ultimately a great round for both fighters who are great friends outside of the ring.

Luis Acevedo (1-0-1) Def. Frankie Garriga (0-2-2) Via UD 40-36, 39-37 x2 (4 rounds Featherweights) –  Garriga got the better of Acevedo in the 1st as he kept his distance and slipped most of Acevedo’s shots, who was bull rushing in, Acevedo did land a solid right hand, but it came as he held one of Garriga’s arms. Acevedo rallied back in the 2nd, landing 2 solid left hands out of a southpaw stance, then later hurting Garriga with a hard left hook. A great 3rd round where both guys went toe to toe, Acevedo landing the cleaner and more effective shots, but Garriga dug in deep and fought back after taking shots that could have put him down. In what was the best round of the night, Acevedo and Garriga finished strong. Acevedo almost stopped Garriga in the final round hammering Garriga with solid hard shots, Garriga returned the favor but nothing seemed to be effective as Acevedo kept coming back stronger and stronger after each blow. Acevedo and Garriga had the best fight of the night thus far
