The card at the Resorts Atlantic City started late but it was still full of action. In two 6 round bouts, the crowd was given a solid showing before the fights went live on ESPN2.
In the 1st fight, Scott Burrell From Brooklyn New York came pouring from the onset of the fight against Edgardo Torres from Vineland, New Jersey. Burrell displayed good handspeed and a nice mix of body and head punches that startled Torres throughout all of the six rounds in the fight. He won on the scorecards. In the final round what was seemingly a push was scored as a knockdown. The final scores came in 60-53 twice and 60-54 in favor of Burrell, improving his record to 7-1.
The other bout before ESPN went live was between Thomas LaManna and Joshua Snyder. The fight had a well-paced action with LaManna scoring a knockdown to start the bout. He controlled the fight with his jab right hand but Snyder came with the pressure and did his own share of damage. LaManna seemed like he wanted to brawl more than box. He took his fair share of punishment but fought back and knocked Snyder down once again in the sixth and final round and won the bout by unanimous decision 58-54 2x and 57-55.
