Errol Spence Jr.On June 20th, PBC on NBC will put on most likely its most competitive card to date, as Adrien Broner will go against Shawn Porter in the fight for all the bragging right for the two Ohio natives.

The co-feature to that card is heavily touted Welterweight prospect Errol Spence Jr (16-0 13 KO’s) against tough veteran Roberto Garcia (37-3 23 KO’s).

Spence is undefeated in 16 fights, showing great boxing skills, athleticism, and power from his precise and accurate punching. He seems to be destined for superstardom but has yet to face anyone of note. Garcia finally is that opponent that will indicate if Spence is as good as the 2012 Olympian has been showcased to be.

“I’m excited to have the chance to fight Roberto Garcia,” Spence told Boxingjunkie.com. “He is a great fighter and I’m happy to have an opportunity to fight on this huge card. It is definitely the biggest opportunity of my careers far, and I won’t disappoint.”

Garcia had a lackluster showing in his last fight against James Stevenson even though Garcia was gifted the decision. Garcia is on a nine-fight win streak since his loss to Antonio Margarito in 2010 and surely is a tough test for Spence Jr. as his style can prove a worthy matchup for the young prospect.

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring and showcase my skills on the biggest stage,” Garcia said. “Spence Jr. is a strong up-and-coming fighter, but I have experience on my side, and I’m going to show it on June 20th.”

Errol Spence Jr has surely been hyped up to this point, but he has the chance to prove that as hard as they work getting his name out there, is as hard as he is working in the ring.

His career has been handled masterfully thanks to Al Haymon. Now it’s time for the true step up against a named opponent.

This will be a great appetizer to the main course of the night. Spence is against his toughest test, and the main event is surely a 50-50 fight with Porter vs. Broner. Will Spence Jr stay on track to superstardom or will Garcia derail Spence’s progress?

We will see June 20th on PBC on NBC from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
