Andrzej Fonfara - Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.WBC International light-heavyweight champion Andrzej Fonfara (27-3, 16 KO’s) hasn’t fought since stopping Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in April earlier this year.

Ranked No. 3 by the WBA, Fonfara is in line to face WBA/IBF/WBO champion Sergey Kovalev (27-0-1, 24 KO’s) in the near future.

Fonfara has also been listening to calls from Chavez for a rematch. The former WBC middleweight champion has stated he is considering moving back to the light-heavyweight division if he continues to have problems making the super-middleweight limit of 168 lbs.

It might be time for Chavez to make that decision. He has fought as a light-heavyweight in three of his last four bouts. And in two of his last four, he’s blown weight entirely, despite last-second changes to the contracted weight in both attempts to allow the fight to continue.

In embarrassing fashion last Friday, Chavez missed weight even with the alteration.

While Fonfara is open to fighting Chavez again, he has a warning, he’ll knock him out again, perhaps even quicker, speaking with Luke Furman of Bokser via Boxing Scene.

“I want to congratulate Chavez on the victory [against Marcos Reyes], but we all know that if we met again – I would knock him out again, maybe even quicker.”

Fonfara is being nice. I wouldn’t have even said that. I’d say something along the lines of, ‘Sure, let’s do it again,’ knowing that I have the edge.

The Polish fighter is only trying to warn Chavez of his impending doom.

Let’s be real: Chavez lost just about every round against Fonfara the first time around. Who is he kidding?

Chavez used to be a fighter that dedicated his life to his craft, but somewhere along the line, he became complacent because of his family’s status in the boxing world.

He had Freddie Roach, one of the best boxing trainers this sport has ever seen, and he threw him away, along with his career.

The sport is better off without Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and not many people will shed a tear once he’s gone.
