Frampton-Quigg-RigodeuaxCarl Frampton wants to be the best 122 lb. Fighter in the world. To do that he needs to beat Chris Avalos on February 28th then take on the likes of Guillermo Rigondeaux and Leo Santa Cruz. Along the way he has to beat his European rival Scott Quigg and what a massive fight it would be in the United Kingdom.

Frampton says he’s not shying away from the competition, even dropping the name of the most avoided fighter in his division Guillermo Rigondeaux.

“The perfect year for me would be to beat Avalos, and then beat Quigg in the summer and then go after Rigondeaux,” Frampton said to ESPN UK. “Rigondeaux is the best in the division and if I want to prove that I am the best in the division – which I believe I am – then I’m going to need to beat him.

He knows that the biggest fight for him financially would likely by Quigg, but he does not want to look past Avalos.

“The name that keeps getting brought up is Quigg, and obviously I want that fight but I honestly believe that Avalos is a tougher fighter than Quigg. I’m getting these names thrown at me all the time, but I’m ready to fight anyone,” explained Frampton.

However, Frampton knows if he wants to chase greatness, it could well lie in the path of Guillermo Rigondeaux.

“I want to fight Rigondeaux. People rightfully see him as the best Super Bantamweight in the world. Just look at what he’s done as an amateur and look at what he’s done as a professional.”
