Friday on ESPN Friday Night Fights Nate “The Galaxy Warrior” Campbell (36-9-1) returns against the undefeated Canadian prospect Kevin Bizier (19-0) for the NABA welterweight title. Campbell has won his last two fights over Krzysztof Szot and Victor Cayo. However his last win was over 8 months ago and being out for that long could result in some ring rust, especially for a forty year old.

This fight is make or break for Nate Campbell. If he wins this fight it could put him back into a meaningful fight in the welterweight division. If he loses he will be all but forced into retirement.  The fact that Campbell took the fight against a young buck like Bizier tells me he still has drive and something left prove. However, although Bizier is unbeaten, he is also very untested. His veteran experience should help him as long as he doesn’t drop his hands like he did against Peden back in ’05 or quit on himself like he has in the past.

This is a huge opportunity for Kevin Bizier. He is getting a chance to put a big name under his belt and to display his talents to the boxing world. From what I have noticed of Bizier, he appears to have deceptive strength behind his punches. This could prove useful especially if Campbell is under estimating him. If Bizier can pull of the win and do it impressively,  it could give him a shot at bigger money maker.  So will Campbell be a stepping stone for Bizier or does the “Galaxy Warrior” have more gas in his tank?

This fights prediction is difficult to make. I think Campbell will come out rejuvenated and have a good showing but he will learn no one can outlast Father Time. I have this ending in a unanimous decision victory. Campbell is on his way out and will have a tough time keeping up with 28 year old. Either way this should make for a fight.
