Gabriel Rosado Trying To Secure A Title Shot With Peter Quillin

    “King” Gabriel Rosado was recently in Puerto Rico on vacation and discussed his future while he while watching Johnny Gonzalez fall at the hands of Giovani Segura.

    Rosado and his team are currently negotiating and trying to reach an agreement to face WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin for a possible date in October on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins-Karo Murat.

    “We are seeing if we can get a fight with “Kid Chocolate” on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins fight in October. We will see what happens,” said Rosado. “It would be a tremendous fight for the fans because he will not backpedal nor will I. In this fight I will be the experienced fighter. I respect him because he is the champion but he has not faced an experienced fighter like me.”

    Rosado has issued challenges to several top fighters such as Miguel Cotto, Austin Trout and Erislandy but they have all turned him down.
    “They say I’m too big you know. (From) a lot of rice and beans. I can make the weight (154 pounds) but it’s hard to make the weight because I have filled into a middleweight.”
    Rosado’s height may play a part in the fact that he gets turned down as he stand at 6 feet tall.

    “I train every day. Now I am on vacation here in Puerto Rico and spending time with my family but I am going to Philadelphia on Tuesday to resume training.”
