Danny GarciaThe Porters, Shawn and his trainer Ken were in attendance at The Barclays Center when Danny Garcia defeated Paulie Malignaggi this past August. The Porters were there on a scout mission to scout Danny Garcia. They have been public on wanting the Garcia fight. Garcia who made his official 147 lb. debut says he’s never heard anything from the man that matters, Al Haymon.

“The only time I heard about a Shawn Porter fight is in the media,” Garcia told Tha Boxing Voice.com “Me and Al Haymon never talked about Shawn Porter or none of that.”

Many welterweights have had their eye on Garcia since his August 1st fight. While Garcia is ok with the attention, he wonders why those same welterweights like Porter haven’t fought other welterweights.

“I just moved out to 147 and people worried about me,” stated Garcia. “What you worried about me now? There still a lot of 147 lbers. How come you didn’t fight Keith Thurman yet? Ya been at that same weight class for years. How come you didn’t fight Amir Khan yet? How come everybody worried about me? There’s still a lot of fights to be made. But if they want to do it, we could do it.”

Garcia hopes to be back before year’s end but as for the opponent, it’s the same formula each fight.

“We take it one fight at a time. I’m going to do it how I always do it. Al Haymon picks them, I train for them, and we handle business. I’m aiming for the end of the year, November around there. We’ll have to see. It’s possible everybody that’s in PBC, signed with Al Haymon. Anything’s possible, it’s all about the fights getting made.”

In regards to a possible Amir Khan fight, Garcia says, “Its whoever Al Haymon wants, I fight him once, I’ll fight him again.”
