Gary Shaw Productions Paredes and Rivera ready to make pro debuts

PUERTO RICO (February 19, 2014)Gary Shaw Productions newly signed amateur stars, Luis Paredes and Jean “Chapito” Rivera will be making their pro debuts this Saturda, March 22 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on the undercard of Jose Pedraza (15-0, 10 KOs) vs. Alberto Garza (26-6-1, 21 KOs).

 

Both fighters speak on their upcoming bouts and fighting in their native land of Puerto Rico.  Both fighters stand 5’7 with Paredes fighting at featherweight and Rivera campaigning at bantamweight.

 

The 20-year old Luis Paredes will be facing Josue Class who will also be making his pro debut.

“Making my pro debut in Puerto Rico is very exciting.” said Paredes. “I want to perform at a high level and show my people what I’m made of.  This is what I’ve been working toward my whole life and now it’s time to shine.  I’ll be looking to knockout my opponent if I have him hurt.  If the fight goes the distance, I’m ok with that as well, as long as I coming out on top. I want to make my promoter Gary Shaw happy.”

 
18-year old Jean Rivera will square off against another fighter making his pro debut, Kevin Vazquez.

  “The time has finally come for me to make the move to the pros and I can’t wait.” Rivera said. “I don’t know much about my opponent, but I know what I have to do once I step in the ring. I’m going to dictate the action from the opening bell.  I’m coming to fight my fight.  I’m not going to let this guy get into any type of rhythm.  I want to thank Gary Shaw for turning me pro.”
