Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KO’s) may make his debut in the United Kingdom this year should he and Martin Murray (25-1-1, 11 KO’s) agree to fight each other. Golovkin’s manager Oleg Hermann has stated that there has been an offer for the fight but some difficulties lie in Murray obtaining a visa but there may be a possibility of the fight taking place in Murray’s home country to expand the fan base of Golovkin.

“The media are asking for some potential match-ups for Gennady down the road and certainly Martin Murray is one of the top middleweights in the world. The performance he had against Sergio Martinez has proven that and if it’s a great fight that can’t be made here in the state then it could be interesting to see if it something we could do over there in the U.K. Macklin, Barker, Murray, Andy Lee, there are a lot of great fighters over in the U.K. and we would be excited to build Gennady’s name a lot more over there,” said promoter Tom Loeffler.
