When you think about the lightweight division there are several names that make for good fights but the main focus is on the big four. Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, and Devin Haney.
There is plenty of hype behind those names but zero fights have taken place between them. Politics between promoters and networks have plagued boxing for years and will never cease to exist.
With the four not fighting each other, we will get other fights in their place- some good and some bad. Some against guys that are not even a thought in fight fans heads on this side of the planet but are determined to make a statement.
George Kambosos Jr. is one of those fighters determined to make a statement against anyone in the division. Kambosos feels that he has more heart than the big four in the division and will rise above and shock the boxing world.
“I may not be as known as the ‘big four’ but I tell you one thing I got more heart, will and dedication than all four of them put together. Watch the dark horse [to] rise,” stated Kambosos via Twitter.
Kambosos last fought in October of 2020 giving Lee Selby the second loss of his career.
