Following a story that ThaBoxingVoice.com has been reporting on for the location of the bout between Jhonny Gonzalez and Gary Russell Jr., it seems that the bout will take place in Las Vegas at The Palms Casino.
ThaBoxingVoice.com reported last week that the bout was moved from California to San Antonio. The San Antonio-based promoters Leija-Battah Promotions even started selling tickets and planning undercard bouts for the fight. Then on Monday night, ThaBoxingVoice.com got news that those plans were scrapped even before the promotional entity even made the news public.
On the undercard, the co-main event features a bout between Vanes Martirosyan and Jermall Charlo. Per Martirosyan’s Twitter account, he said the fight is now being moved to Las Vegas. ThaBoxingVoice.com followed up on the lead and got wind that the March 28th bout may have finally found a home in Las Vegas.
But much like it is in boxing until its officially announced, it’s never set in stone. Stay tuned.
