A source within Leija-Battah promotions confirmed the rumor. The entity even starting selling tickets and scheduling undercard bouts on the card.

According to the very source, San Antonio is no longer in play for the fight. People inside Leija-Battah seemed upset with the change of events because they said there were giving a go from the man behind the fight, Al Haymon.
The bout also seemed to make sense in Texas because Jermell Charlo is on the undercard against Vanes Martirosyan. Being from Houston, Texas, there could be sort of a local draw on the card. So for the time being, Gonzalez-Russell has no home. Who knows, it could end up back at Stub Hub or elsewhere.
