Haney unimpressed with Garcia’s performance while seemingly forgetting his own against Gamboa

By: Julio Garcia

The boxing world is still abuzz Sunday morning with talks of what transpired last night when Ryan Garcia stopped Luke Campbell.  Garcia was dropped in the 2nd round by a hard shit but rallied back to stun and almost stop Campbell at one point before finally taking him out in the 7th round.

After the fight the question was asked if Garcia wanted Tank Davis or Devin Haney who was in attendance and it was clear that Davis was the clear favorite.

Haney was not impressed with Garcia’s performance and stated that he wants the fight with Garcia to happen and the ball is in Garcia’s court.

“Decent performance [by] Ryan Garcia,” Tweeted Haney. “Now you’re my mandatory lets make it happen!”

While Haney is critical of Garcia’s performance he seems to have forgotten his lackluster performance against an old, slow, faded Yuriorkis Gamboa who didn’t seem like he wanted to be there.
