Hank Lundy has his own big fight coming on July 11th against Mauricio Herrera. He is in camp with Shawn Porter as he helps Porter prepare for his showdown with Adrien Broner come June 20th while preparing Lundy offers an interesting feeling as he has also been in camp with Adrien Broner when Broner was training with the Peterson brothers for his last few fights.
Lundy says Porter has what it takes to win the bout.
“It’s going to be school in session,” Lundy said of Porter winning. “He going to shock the world. In both of our fights, we’re seen as the underdogs and I like that. That’s my whole career. So you know the hard work and determination staying focus and not letting everything that goes on in boxing go to our heads. That’s what everyone’s going to see in both our fights. When a man upstairs tells you that you can do it, you go all the way to the top.”
Lundy feels it should be an entertaining scrap no matter who the victor is.
“Most definitely, both guys going to come and give it their all. I’m helping Porter get ready so I know he’s going to go out there and perform.”
The difference Lundy feels will be in preparation. While Porter is hard at work, there are pictures of Broner partying it up with singer Chris Brown. Lundy feels that in boxing, it’s got to be all hard work and determination.
“In this sport, you want to live the life and be dedicated. That’s one thing Hammerin’ Hank don’t do. I’m a homebody. I like to be home. First and foremost I ain’t giving nobody my money. I work too hard to be poppin’ some bottles. I’m a go pop some milk or some ginger ale. That’s not me and that’s the wrong message that’s you feed to the kids that’s watching.”
