Seems like the cold war is thawing by the day between Top Rank and Golden Boy as news hit yesterday that the two companies will promote another fight on December 13th on the undercard of Bradley-Chaves. Bob Arum confirmed to UCNLive.com’s Steve Kim that Jose Benavidez will take on Mauricio Herrera to fill up one of the last two remaining slots on the televised tripleheader.
Herrera is promoted by Golden Boy and Benavidez by Top Rank. This is the second fight that the two will co-promote this year with Abregu-Ali in November being the first.
Herrera was on hand at the Golden Boy Live event and confirmed with ThaBoxingVoice.com’s Fernando Pimentel that the fight is signed and he can’t wait to get in the ring.
According to Steve Kim, Bob Arum would like to have the signed Korobov-Lee fight as the third fight of the triple header. If all holds true, that’s a card you won’t get many complaints from.
