The judges scored it 116-112, 116-112 and 118-110. ThaBoxingVoice.com scored the fight 116-112 for Marko ‘Capt’n’ Huck.

The previously undefeated Italian started as expected, working cautiously off his jab with very little success. Marco Huck was able to avoid Larghetti’s jab and countered with his overhand right at will. Building up a comfortable lead on the scorecard in the early rounds.

However, After several rounds of tasting and absorbing Huck’s power, Larghetti was confident enough to trade with the Serbian. A fight broke out. In the action-packed middle rounds, the 31-year old Italian was not only able to hold his own, he was winning most of the rounds. He was able to land some good right hand counters, visibly discouraging Huck and evening up the scorecards.

But the ThaBoxingVoice.com number one ranked cruiserweight, found another gear in the last three rounds to ensure the victory. Huck closed the fight out in style, almost knocking his opponent out in the last seconds of the fight. Larghetti was barely able to get back on his feet after the referee stopped the action when the bell rang after the final round.

Although Larghetti lost decisively, he has nothing to be ashamed off. He gave a good account of himself and forced Huck to dig deep in the second half of the fight.

With this win, Huck tied Johnny Nelson’s record of 13 successful cruiserweight title defenses. Whether the Berlin based fighter will go for defense number 14 in his next fight is uncertain at this point. Huck has stated numerous times that he would like to get another shot at the heavyweight championship of the world.

On the undercard, the once highly regarded Denis Boytsov returned after his first defeat at the hands of Alex Leapai last year. While the 28-year old Russian heavyweight managed win a ten round unanimous decision victory over Timur Musafarov (6-2), his performance was far from impressive. After the fight the German crowd booed Boytsov and cheered for Musafarov.
