According to a source close with Premier Boxing Champions, the scheduled bout between WBC World super-middleweight champion Badou Jack (19-1-1, 12 KO’s) and two-time super-middleweight championship contender George Groves (21-2, 16 KO’s) on August 22nd has been postponed.
After several attempts to get an answer from Premier Boxing Champions and Mayweather Promotions sources were unsuccessful from my end, ESPN’s Dan Rafael was told by his source that the fight is “probably just delayed to Sept. 12 and will be on Floyd’s undercard.
Groves suffered a minor head injury during training camp with the Royal Marines on June 22nd as part of his preparation for the fight with Jack.
Groves was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks, but was immediately released following the incident that took place while taking part in a boating activity with the Marines.
