On August 9, Daniel Jacobs steps into the ring to face Australian Jarrod Fletcher. The fight will be for the vacant regular WBA middleweight title. With Gennady Golovkin as the Super WBA middleweight champion, the meaning of the regular title is debatable.
When asked about a potential upcoming fight with super champion Gennady Golovkin, Jacobs sounded confident. ”There is no one that can defeat me. When i’m at my best, i’m unstoppable.”
The cancer survivor told Thaboxingvoice.com that he wants to have the experience of fighting 12 rounds first. He never has gone the full 12 rounds and may lack some experience, he admitted.
”But the skills are there”, the fighter told us. ”I have the power and the speed to compete with anyone.”
Daniel Jacobs concluded the interview by telling us that he wants to fight the best fighters. ”I’m willing to face anybody in the middleweight division. I’m a true champion!” Jacobs named three fighters specifically. Gennady Golovkin, Peter Quillin and Miguel Cotto.
